Welcome & Pre-date #1
In a little over a week Pam and I will head for Denver and her appointment at National Jewish Hospital. It's been a long couple of years, especially the past few months as we have waited, hoped, been crushed, and had hope restored for this opportunity.
Because of so many expressions of concerns and pledges from colleagues, students, friends, and family to pray for Pam, we've decided to use this blog site to provide updates from Denver and let you know what to pray for. In this way you can choose when or if you read and we will not fill your email box. I'll try to update the site on a regular basis (if I can get my computer to cooperate).
Pre-date #1: Pam is to "check-in" at NJH on Tuesday morning, November 7 at 9:00 am. We were supposed to have already received a tentative schedule for her testing, but found out today that Pam's case manager no longer works at the hospital. So, it appears some paper work may be lagging behind. We will leave Abilene on either the Saturday or Sunday before her appoinitment begins and make the trip in at least two stages, based on how Pam is feeling and how well she tolerates the travel. We'll stay at a hotel just down the street - convenient for her daily trip(s) to NJH. NJH advises that they will complete their testing and treatment plan for a final doctors consult no earlier than November 14 (one full week), and have advised us that they may extend her testing/treatment through November 16.
Pam has begun tapering off some medication and will go off all of it about five days before the appointment (instead of the original ten days prior - thankfully). So far, so good - she is certainly feeling the effect, but is making it.

Glenn, Pam and "T".
We are praying that a cure can be found for Pam's allergies. We think of you ALL THE TIME!!! We miss you!! Please come back. We promise not to try to sell your house out from under you!!!
Saw David yesterday on campus - he looked great!
Love to you all,
Queenie and Clydesdale
My word! This hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't know anything was going on and that Pam had not gotten relief and help for her alergies there. Definately I will be praying for some answers for her and for completely healing. I wish that there was something more that I could do. Don't know how to get a casserole or dessert to you. (wiwthout the pesky percans)
I love you both and really am so sorry you having to go through this. God will provide the answers and we'll continue to pray.
Love you much, Elaine
Dear Pam and Glenn,
You all are in my prayers and I'm so happy 'the day' is finally approaching for you to head off to the snow. I pray for answers, a quick recovery for you and safety in your travels. We love you all and want to thank you for keeping us posted on your progress.
Love,
Virginia
P.S. Pam I think of you every morning when I open my sinus rinse packages!
Pam and Glenn,
We're praying that NJH will be the same miracle cure for you that it was for John. Love you and miss you,

Glen and Pam,
You are headed to a wonderful place. NJH is who diagnosed my dad last year and he has now been treated and is doing great. I pray they are able to give you a good diagnosis.
You are in our prayers.

Glenn and Pam,
I am so glad you are in place there in Denver. We are praying for you here. Glenn just relax and watch the mountains out your window. I have taken over your office and have made several executive decisions while you have been gone. I think the jacuzzi jets will be a nice additional at Jacob's Ladder.
You will love the new rappeling wall inside the Bible building!
I went ahead and finished your 5 year plan for the department. Looks like I'll be here for another five years.
Blessings to you,

Dear Temporary Chair Oglesby
What a relief to have you in charge and carrying out such meaningful and significant improvements for the DBMM. Sniff, sniff... I'm just so proud.
Dear Glenn and Pam,
Those tests don't sound like much fun to me. I am thankful for the small insights you are getting thus far. I continue to keep praying for the bigger revelations that will make life more pleasant.
Lauren Winner was great in my class this morning. I did Jr. Level Acceptance in your class later this morning. I don't think any of your students began to weep or curl up in fetal positions under their desks. A good day overall. We miss you guys.
(Do you happen to know the insurance company we use? We had a problem with the jacuzzi. The water will be gone from the bottom floor of the Bible building by the time you get home.) Ha!
